Installation

Upload the shakoor-media-cleaner folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Go to ‘Media Cleaner’ in your sidebar to start your first analysis.
Set up your cleaning schedule in the ‘Automation’ tab.

FAQ

Is this safe for my website?: Yes! Unlike other plugins that delete files immediately, we move them to a “Vault” table first. Your website won’t break because the files stay on your server until you choose to “Hard Delete” them.
Does it work with Elementor?: Yes, it has been specifically tested on Elementor v4 to ensure it correctly identifies used images within widgets.
Can I run a cleanup manually?: Absolutely. You can use the “Scan Library” tab at any time to perform a manual check and move files to the Vault.

Der Cleaner ist simpel aufgebaut und tut was er soll. Die Einfachheit eines solchen Tools ist mir immer wichtig, daher gibt es von mir auch 5 Sterne. Die Features die dieses Plugin verspricht, werden eingehalten. Zur Kompatibilität mit Elementor V4 habe ich einen Kommentar: Zugegeben, sieht das Plugin viele Bilder in Widgets als “verwendet”. Jedoch werden alle Bilder die in einem Container/Section als Hintergrund gesetzt werden nicht als verwendet. Diese werden entfernt. Da dies bei fast allen Cleaner die Problematik ist, vermute ich ist dieses Thema nicht ganz trivial. Ich bleibe bei meinen 5 Sternen. Ich betreue Kundenwebsites, die fast nie mehr als 20 Seiten haben. Davon sind an 2-3 Stellen Bilder als Hintergrund gesetzt. Von daher konnte ich damit leben und die Bilder manuell wieder hinzufügen. Jedoch wird für mich aufgrund dieser Sache ein automatisierter Cronjob nicht in Frage kommen. Vielleicht gibt es dafür auch bald eine Lösung 🙂
